Your help is needed. The Blue Ridge Emmaus Board is putting together a Policy and Procedures manual. This will have helpful information for various components of how our Community functions. Everything from how they’re scheduled to where the lanyards come from and who picks the teams will be included. A lot of our Community’s knowledge however is based on the oral tradition. Someone (who did it before you) told you how to do it and now you’ve passed that on verbally to someone else. Trouble is, sometimes it might not get passed on very well. What happens if you don’t get the chance to pass the info on? We want to glean every golden nugget of information we can from you in the formation of this manual. No matter how minute it may seem to you, we want to chronicle it and put it to use for your Community. We’ve always relied on a huge group of volunteers and often times they come up with a great way to do something. We don’t want that valuable information lost. No seriously, it could be how to decorate the butter for the dining room or the proper method for putting out the luminaries for Candlelight. It’s all important and we want to preserve these traditions we’ve begun. So if you’ve ever been a Lay Director, Spiritual Director or servant in any capacity on a Weekend, please contact us. Write down what you know and get that info to us. Some may go into the procedures for a particular Board role (like Closing, Prayer Chapel or Dining Room) and some may go in the general knowledge compendium but it’s all helpful. Please take a few minutes to jot it down and get it to us. This is your chance to be heard and help countless future Walk servants. Don’t assume someone else will know—you may be the one who has specific knowledge that everyone else could benefit from. Bottom line, if you’re unsure if you should write out a description for a role you’ve done, then write it down! If we get similar ones (and wouldn’t it be nice to have multiple members each putting their stamp on a position) then we’ll condense them into one coherent item. You can be as broad as you want in describing something but remember sometimes the littlest things make a difference so try to be thorough. Send these as soon as possible—Don’t Wait!—to revfuzz38@gmail.com
Thanks, Diean Campbell and the Policy & Procedures Committee.

Thursday, May 14, the next Kairos weekend starts in Marion Correctional Center. "I was in prison and you visited me." You can be part of this weekend by signing up for the prayer vigil by going to Blueridgeemmaus.org and clicking the link on the homepage. Select a time when you will pray for these men. The prayer partner names will be shown on a "prayer wheel" and inmates will stand in awe looking at all those names, knowing that they are lifted up in prayer 24 hours per day for the entire weekend.
Meals are prepared by volunteers in a kitchen of a nearby-located church. The average cost of a meal is $5.00 and checks can be made out to N.C. Kairos.
Thank you! John Klees

We want to reach out and bring people to the throne of God, no matter where they find themselves in their lives. Our goal is to minister to both the lost and those who daily follow Christ, that all may have a personal relationship with the God who created them.
